Mehrad Tafreshi
Trainee Health Psychologist
About our work together
Hello, I am Mehrad. I am a Trainee Health Psychologist offering an integrative approach to therapy. I work with people from all backgrounds experiencing anxiety, depression/low mood, stress, health-related anxiety, loneliness, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and phobias.
I have specific experience and interest in supporting those navigating long-term and chronic health conditions, helping them navigate their illness and identity.
I am currently in the final stages of my Doctorate in Health Psychology. My academic foundation also includes a master’s in Health Psychology and an undergraduate in Psychology with a focus on Sport & Exercise Psychology.
My clinical experience includes roles in NHS health improvement across community and mental health settings, as well as work with charitable organisations. I have provided therapeutic support to individuals affected by stroke, long COVID, and multiple sclerosis, as well as to the caregivers of those living with chronic illnesses.
My therapeutic practice is grounded in evidence-based frameworks, combining Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), and third-wave approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space, underpinned by compassion, empathy, authenticity, and collaboration, ensuring that our work together honours your unique experiences and therapy goals.
As part of my doctoral training, I am currently offering free therapy. My practice is fully supervised by an HCPC-registered Health Psychologist to ensure I provide the highest standard of care.
